Winter and weddings: a combination that does not sound good in the popular imagination immediately, associating more commonly the "thought to be" beautiful season as the perfect time to celebrate the wedding ...
But bringing my own experience this year, which had not happened for several seasons, the new trend seems to be just that: the Christmas Wedding!
Indirectly, then the return to the true values, such as the Christmas party of the family, the traditions and feelings related to joy and candid memories of when we were kids ...
General Winter and Snow Queen spring then in the front row accompanied by elements of Dickensian memory in the sources of inspiration for mood and arrangements.
The lights and shadows of winter are extraordinary to create amazing scenarios of "pure drama": snowy branches that intersect with red velvet roses, illuminated by the flames of countless candles in small glasses like blocks of carved ice; or pine branches and golden decorations, large sparkling silver chandeliers and Bohemia crystal drops ... birch woods reconstructed indoor, aisles dotted with Poinsettia bushes ...
The long list of elements is then a personal matter: everyone has memories, fragments, little details that make Christmas and the magic is assured.
Can not miss the tree, real and "well-dressed", Victorian style with retro decor and red bows or more contemporary, stylized, full of balls in the most unusual shades and thousands of small LEDs.
The bride chooses lace dresses vaguely vintage or in heavy satin with fur details. Warm accessories, woolen stoles or embroidered pashminas; a fur hat as alternative to veil or a fox muff instead of the bouquet.
The luckiest ones marry in the mountains, perhaps with the sled, in a small wooden church and reception in the family chalet.
Those who do not have all that chooses something more accessible but still very fascinating: a location with fireplaces, or an historical residence where to exploit the architecture and play with the lights to create exciting effects.
The bouquet will match the festive atmosphere: in addition to the classic bouquet of red roses the options are several: white roses and hypericum red berries for a traditional look or small pine cones with sprigs of silver cypress, touches of blue sea holly and waxflower to create the effect of flowers gathered in the woods ....
Finally the cake, inevitable, be it traditional Italian covered of red fruits and curls of whipped cream or the American wedding cake, where imagination has no limits: white royal icing with gold decorations or a sugar red roses cascade, sculptures that simulate icicles or garlands of ivy ...
Then there is a new trend, alternative but curious: cakes made of individual portions ... in the United States are often used cupcakes that we could replace with small Italian glazed panettone, far more tasty and appropriate to the period.
The Christmas Wedding therefore is certainly attractive, spectacular and original ... and then after that cold, you go on your honeymoon in a Pacific atoll, in the shade of a palm tree surrounded by a sea of emerald ...
